NPage Studio is a ceramics atelier making lighting for the studio collection as well as creating collaborative works for our sister companies Lostine and RTO Lighting.  At NPage Studio and our affiliated studios, we are committed to thoughtful, American-made design. Our ceramic collection combines timeless aesthetics with traditional methods—including slip casting and plaster mold making—to produce high-quality, small-batch pieces for home and lighting collections. We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Ceramics Production Assistant to support and grow with our in-house team.

Position Overview
The Ceramics Production Assistant will work directly with our ceramicist and production team to support all aspects of slip-cast production—including casting, finishing, glazing, and mold making. This role is ideal for someone with foundational ceramic skills who enjoys repetitive, process-driven work and takes pride in precision and craft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain casting slip (mixing, sieving, and managing consistency)
  • Clean, assemble, and pour plaster molds for slip casting
  • Carefully monitor casting times and de-mold greenware
  • Clean, sponge, and finish cast pieces before bisque firing
  • Assist with mold making, including model prep, pouring plaster, and mold maintenance
  • Support glazing, sanding, and surface finishing
  • Load and unload kilns with attention to firing schedules
  • Maintain studio cleanliness and organize tools, molds, and supplies
  • Track material inventory and finished stock
  • Participate in quality control and occasional packing/shipping

Qualifications

  • Experience with ceramics, including slip casting and/or mold making
  • Familiarity with basic studio equipment (kiln, mixer, plaster tools)
  • Comfortable with repetitive production work and fine detailing
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle bulky molds with care
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow detailed processes
  • Reliable, organized, and self-motivated
  • Interest in long-term growth within a creative production studio

Schedule & Compensation

  • In-studio position (no remote work)
  • Part-time or full-time depending on availability and need
  • Hourly pay based on experience
