Balance ~ Two imposing forms share the surface, their boundaries push against one another and hold each other. Balance comes through the relationships of their shapes and the spaces they leave and create.
Balance has an unglazed surface, exposing the raw clay body and the stained clay that creates an uneven surface. To elevate and display the work, each piece is mounted on brass and held with small hammered brass claws, reminiscent of jewelry.
These second editions are an ongoing series of tile paintings, where ceramic and drawing meet in sculptural relief. Each is one of it's kind.
